The basic, highest-altitude spec for EFES...

  • Default display of EpiDoc pages (using Example XSLT)
  • parameterized edition styles/leiden styles/etc.
  • List all files by title/number
  • Basic EpiDoc indices of all files (as applicable):
  • Greek/Latin words
  • personal names
  • place names
  • people
  • material
  • find place
  • original place
  • object type
  • date
  • etc. etc.etc.
  • faceted browse interface on EpiDoc features (as above)
  • search interface with philological features
  • easy user customization options (form/xml template/xslt?)

(from email to Jamie:

  • index on specific features (material, object type, personal names, place names, abbreviations);
  • faceted browse on some of the same features;
  • both the above based on some pre-baked authority lists and/or online vocabularies and ontologies;
  • specific RDF export from some of these authority lists/indices in formats such as Pelagios or SNAPDRGN;
  • search with some options specific to Greek and Latin text;
  • display using the EpiDoc Example Stylesheets (https://sourceforge.net/p/epidoc/wiki/Stylesheets/) with various parameters enabled/actionable;
  • incorporate some of the above (and maybe other) features from the codebase of projects such as IOSPE (http://iospe.kcl.ac.uk/), Papyri.info and RIB (http://romaninscriptionsofbritain.org/). )
