There is something wrong/misleading about the output of sync_geonode_datasets.
For instance, asking for a sync for a non-existent layer, this is the output:

# django-admin sync_geonode_datasets -f just_a_made_up_layername --updateattributes
There are 0 layers which could not be updated because of errors
