Activate selfcontrol from the commandline

Hello! I love this app, and I've been using it for a few years. I'd like to try blocking my sites every workday. Is there an easy way for me to activate selfcontrol from the commandline? I'd like to write a script that runs in the background.

Ideally my script would be able to:

• Launch the app
• Set the time (to 8hrs)
• Start blocking
• Close the app
