Feature idea: Support for Mistral models with "Standard" or "Data Zone Standard" deployment types in Azure AI Foundry Model Catalog

Technical Feedback

Currently, Mistral models available in the Azure AI Foundry Model Catalog do not offer deployment types such as Standard or Data Zone Standard.
For organizations with strict data sovereignty and GDPR compliance requirements, this is a blocker, deploying these models without these options means data is processed outside the compliant perimeter.

Observed behavior:

• Deployment type options for Mistral are limited to non‑Standard configurations
• This prevents use in certain regulated environments
• Tested across multiple Azure regions (France Central, West Europe, Sweden Central) — no Standard/Data Zone Standard available

Desired Outcome

We want to be able to use Mistral models in Azure AI Foundry with Standard or Data Zone Standard deployment types so that:

• Data residency stays within compliant zones
• GDPR and EU sovereignty requirements are met
• EU customers can adopt Mistral models without compliance risks

Requested solution:
Add support in the Model Catalog for Mistral models with at least one of:

• Standard deployment type
• Data Zone Standard deployment type

This would:

• Enable the use of Mistral models by EU customers with strict compliance constraints
• Align Azure AI Foundry with sovereign AI strategies
• Remove a current blocker for regulated industries
