extraneous error message when editing taxonomy data

When I first edit the taxonomy data for a new taxonomy, I see this:

But once I click on the "branch" widget to add a term:

this error message appears:

I've changed this to a warning for Plone 6.0.0 in the latest 3.0.0a1 release here
