One thing I'm planning on testing soon for just that purpose is GMKTec's just-announced G9 all-flash NAS: https://www.gmktec.com/blogs/blog-post-2024/coming-soon-gmktec-g9-dual-system-4-bay-all-flash-nas-mini-pc?spm=..index.news_1.1 It's 2.5 Gbps instead of 10 Gbps, but might have 10 Gbps USB so you could put a 5 Gbps NIC on that (WisdPi makes a good one), and it'd be pretty formidable, depending on price. Otherwise there's the CM3588, or some Mini ITX boards that you could turn into a decent little NAS too. |

This has my head spinning on wanting to build a mini editing rack for my team for when we travel.
Thinking about putting 2 M4 Mac Mini's in the rack (one for footage dumping, and one for transcoding).
I would need a small 10gbit switch that would fit.
The big question I have would be what would be the best way to create a NAS that both Macs could access. Ideally I would use multiple NVME or SATA SSDs for around 8-12TB.
Any suggestions on the best way to accomplish a NAS that would work here?
