Virtual Monitors for Ultrawide Monitors #41322

Description

Description of the new feature / enhancement

Feature Summary:
Enable the ability to create virtual monitors on ultrawide displays. Similar to how FancyZones allows users to create custom snap zones for organizing apps and windows, this feature would go a step further by creating true virtual monitors. Applications and the operating system would recognize these virtual monitors as distinct displays, allowing for more flexible window management and improved compatibility with screen sharing tools like Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

Scenario when this would be used?

Problem:
When using ultrawide monitors (>40") on Windows, sharing your full desktop in Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or similar applications results in an extremely small and unreadable view for participants. The current workaround is to share individual applications, but they cannot be in full-screen mode.

Impact:
This creates a major productivity issue for enterprise users. If someone needs to present multiple applications (e.g., multiple browser windows), they can only share one at a time. To switch, the presenter must stop sharing and start again with the new application, which is disruptive and inefficient.

Solution:
Introduce a Virtual Monitors that allows users with ultrawide monitors to effectively share multiple windows or a selected region of their screen without forcing participants to view a tiny, unusable desktop. This would greatly improve the experience for enterprise users of Teams, Zoom, and other conferencing tools.
