Assistive technology-
Software (or hardware), separate from the authoring tool, that provides functionality to meet the requirements of people with disabilities.
Comment:
i. Why say "separate from the authoring tool"? Do features included in the browser that help users constitute AT or are these to be excluded too?
Features / tools provided by the platform are covered I suppose.

Consider dropping the words, "separate from the authoring tool" from the definition and adding a note, like:
"Authoring tools and user agents like browsers may provide some built-in features like text-size adjustment or read-aloud to aid accessibility. These may help some users. But the primary function of such software tools is different. Therefore, they are excluded from "assistive technology". On the other hand, assistive technology may be an integral part of some platform software tools that users can initiate as needed".
