We just discovered there is a guide. https://github.com/wpilibsuite/SystemCoreTesting?tab=readme-ov-file#enabling-canivore-support This should possibly be added to the Canivore Read Me. |

Question:
Is there a required order for installing the IPK files?
Summary:
During last night’s Alpha-7 upgrade, we had a new but veteran team member performed the installation to explore alternate setup approaches. During the CANivore IPK installation, the first attempt failed. It is unclear which of the two IPK files was installed first, but when the other was tried, it installed successfully. *They did not reattempt the first file.
Afterward, the programmer continued with the robot program installation. The Driver Station indicated normal operation; however, none of the CANivore-connected motors responded, and PHoenix Tuner X was unable to detect any hardware.
The programmer then reinstalled both IPK files, and this time both installations were successful. Following the reinstall, all devices on the CANivore were detected and operated as expected.
Observations and Recommendations:
It may be helpful if the Phoenix libraries could provide a warning in the Driver Station console when IPK applications are missing or may need to be reinstalled, particularly when CANivore devices are not detected.
If there is a specific installation order required for the IPK files, clear documentation of that order would be beneficial, including guidance on when power cycling of the System Core is necessary.
During troubleshooting, several power cycles were performed, but it remains unclear whether they were required to resolve the issue.
