In next few days I'll publish a new SnapDOM release – I hope the final one before v2 – and it’s a huge leap forward in speed, font handling, and cache management.

Benchmarks (Chromium)

• ⚡ +3× faster than SnapDOM v1.9.9

Fonts & cache improvements

• More accurate font usage detection → only the required variants are embedded
• excludeFonts option to skip families, domains, or subsets
• Configurable reset behavior: "soft", "hard", "none"

Stability

• Almost full test coverage → much higher reliability going into v2
• Cleaner API and cache design

Curious? Clone the repo, switch to the dev branch and run:

Now, there is a new option: cache to manage internal caches. Values are: soft (defautl), hard, auto, disabled

I'm very happy to report that 1.9.10-dev now works perfectly with our application. All caching-related issues have been fixed, even without need to use the new "cache" option. Congratulations!! Fantastic work.

You can see that I have cache: 'disabled'

• Press generate first
• Check the generated image
• Press toggle
• Check the generated image (it is slightly diffent)

@adaltsis There is a bug just with cache disabled that does the opposite 🤷🏻‍♂️

Dont put any cache option and will work. I will fix in next and hope last prerelease iteration

And remember you dont need to create a download function. Just use await result.download()

I believe [email protected] is almost ready for release. There are still a few small tasks to finalize, such as updating the type definitions and improving test coverage. For this reason, I’m asking you to try @zumer/[email protected] in your current projects to help identify any issues or regressions.

There will always be edge cases and scenarios that cannot be captured perfectly—that’s expected, since it’s hard to foresee every possible combination in real-world use. However, despite this fact, I consider this version one of the best I’ve made so far: it not only dramatically increases speed but also improves accuracy.

I use ws to communicate with the front end. After entering the main interface for the first time, it will proactively report the current information and screenshots. Then the timer is executed once every 120 seconds. There will be obvious frame drops and lag when taking screenshots. He can't be indifferent. I don't know if there's something wrong with my configuration or if it's just like this feature.

I don't know your setup, but if snapdom become laggy because is continuously taking screenshots maybe you can use cache full or cache disabled.
