The field relationship is not a valid property of the TCA column type group and should not be listed in the example code snippet.

Thanks for the report! However, 'relationship' is valid as of TYPO3 v14, see: https://review.typo3.org/c/Packages/TYPO3.CMS/+/85046

Do you see this example being used in the 13.4 docs maybe, which docs URL did you spot this on?

Ah, alright. https://docs.typo3.org/m/typo3/reference-tca/13.4/en-us/ColumnsConfig/Type/Group/Index.html does not list this for 13.4, so that's good.

It needs to be listed in properties of main, yes. This is an issue still open via TYPO3-Documentation/Changelog-To-Doc#998 and has not yet been documented for 13.3 sadly. Help would be welcome if you feel up to it to port the feature RST to our docs? :-)

I am currently working on documenting the feature. It seems like the according ticket, TYPO3-Documentation/Changelog-To-Doc#998 got stuck in the pipeline due to a shortage of volunteers. I assigned myself now.

I will put your PR on draft and resolve it once the feature is properly documented.
