box-setup

A set of instructions and scripts to document and semi-automate the setup of a new Windows developer machine

Inspired by gpspake/dotfiles

Best executed in order. See README in each directory.

Fresh Install

Create bootable installer via Windows 10 media creation tool
Boot to installer
Delete all existing partitions
Install Windows 10
After initial setup, sign into Microsoft Store to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro
Run O&O AppBuster to remove bloatware
Reset PC

Configuration

Do not connect to network yet
Enable BitLocker
Run WindowsSpyBlocker
Run O&O ShutUp10
Connect to network
Configure WSL
Configure git
Configure Windows
Configure winget and install apps
Configure BleachBit
Configure windows-terminal
Configure zsh
Configure Firefox
Configure Visual Studio Code
Configure Visual Studio
