Why was the nav bar removed?

Because it is not present in the GNOME Calculator, I think it wastes a lot of space in a minimal window-sized app.

The nav bar was used to show the operations history, unless that functionality is restored, either via the nav bar or an alternative, I cannot merge this.

Is there a reason you want to replicate GNOME Calculator's design? This calculator is made for COSMIC and it follows the design principles of that desktop.

I want to replicate GNOME Calculator because i think it is the most intuitive and accessible calculator application

I'm not sure I'm willing to let go of the nav bar, I don't think it's that intrusive given that you can hide it, it also marks a clear separation between the operations history and the main app UI.
