Configuring NTP server details

Dilshan R Jayakody edited this page Apr 27, 2021 · 2 revisions

In the default configuration, the NTP clock driver uses the NIST time-a-g.nist.gov (129.6.15.28) NTP server to obtain NTP data. To point the NTP clock driver to the different NTP server, follow the steps listed below:

  1. Open the NTP clock driver configuration menu by pressing the "ENTER" key on a terminal emulator program.
  2. Select option number 7 from the menu.
  3. Enter the IPv4 address of the NTP server.
  4. Enter the port number. (The default port number for network time protocol is 123).
  5. After specifying the above details, the NTP clock driver starts to communicate with the new NTP server and synchronize the RTC date and time with a new server.

To change the time offset, select option number 5 from the configuration menu and set the time offset. The time offset must enter in standard UTC offset format (e.g: +3:30).
