The
FieldPackettype formysql2is inaccurate in that it contains many "hidden" fields (e.g._buf) that we don't want, as well as is missing the regular fields that are there as well (see sidorares/node-mysql2#1276).So we wrap the return for it to normalize it down to something more concrete. A next step would be to convert
columnTypefrom a number into a meaningful string.
